Vegie Growing Competition

During the last few weeks of Term 3, our Ag Science class began an experiment to see which group could successfully grow the best yielding vegetable crop prior to the end of the school year.

Split into teams, students needed to assess which vegetables would grow in the local climate at this time of year, before making any decisions about their plantings. After selecting their vegetable varieties, they then prepared the beds and planted their seeds.

While some crops are a little slower than others, the carrots appear to be doing well and the salad greens are growing rapidly. The team who produces the highest yielding crop will be awarded a prize at the end of the experiment.

Special thanks to the Hands on Learning crew for constructing the garden beds.
