The Year 10 Food Studies students have been busy in the kitchen, putting their creativity and skills to the test by designing and making their own “fake-away” meals!

Students explored how to recreate popular meals in a more nutritious and cost-effective way. Along the way, they developed valuable cooking techniques, teamwork skills, and a deeper understanding of ingredients and nutrition.

Who knew fake-away could look (and taste) this good?

Year 10 Sports Coaching

The Year 10 Sports Coaching class are participating in various coaching sessions at The Bucket Centre and Aquamoves over the next five weeks.  Today they went to The Bucket Centre for their first session. Matt (coach) worked on some Basketball skills and drills with the boys.  They worked as individuals and also in small groups working on different aspects of the game. Thanks to The Bucket Centre for this great opportunity!

Year 12 Biology

Year 12 Biology students undertook a practical investigation exploring how substrate type affects the rate of respiration in yeast.

The aim of the experiment was to determine how different sugar substrates influence yeast respiration, giving students insight into how organisms utilise available energy sources.

Students immersed themselves fully in the practical, collecting data and observing changes, discussing their results. It was fantastic to see their curiosity in action as they analysed patterns and considered the biological processes behind their findings.

VCE Psychology

Our Year 10 and 11 Psychology students today engaged in a hands-on brain dissection, deepening their understanding of the structure and function of the brain. Using a lamb’s brain, students carefully conducted the dissection before identifying and labelling the key parts they have been studying in class.

This practical experience allowed students to connect theory with real-world application, while developing a deeper appreciation for the complexity of the human brain.
