Principal's News

Mr Brian Anderson

Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

Term 2 has begun with great energy and purpose, and it was a joy to gather as a

community to celebrate the Easter season through a beautiful liturgy led by 4W.

The message of the Risen Jesus, that He is truly with us continues to anchor and strengthen our community in faith, hope and love. It is this shared belief that underpins all that we do at St Francis Xavier.

Friendology

Last week, our students participated in our annual Friendology Launch Day, marking the beginning of an eight-week program focused on building positive, respectful and resilient friendships. Now in its third year, Friendology continues to be a powerful initiative, equipping our students with practical strategies to navigate the complexities of relationships. We look forward to seeing the continued growth in confidence, empathy and connection across our classrooms.

Sports Carnival

Last Thursday , our entire community enjoyed a wonderful day at Campbell Oval. It was a celebration not only of athleticism, but of spirit, participation and community.

Congratulations to Merici(Red) for taking out the overall house championship, and to all students for the way they embodied our school values of Excellence, Respect and Stewardship throughout the day.

My sincere thanks to Mr Blasanto and Mr Martin for their outstanding organisation, and to all staff for their commitment to ensuring such a successful event. The introduction of updated race scheduling and electronic timing systems reflects our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement at SFX.

A special thank you to our parent helpers, particularly the Tama family for their early morning support in transporting equipment. Your generosity and partnership are deeply

 appreciated.

I would also like to acknowledge Mrs Radano, our canteen manager, for ensuring that all were well catered for throughout the day. Thank you, Lina, for your dedication and care.

Mother’s Day Celebration

This week, we look forward to celebrating the mothers and mother figures in our community.

On Friday 8th May our morning will begin with a breakfast on the primary playground at 8:00am, followed by a prayer service at 8:50am led by Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2. Students will then have the opportunity to purchase a small gift from our Mother’s Day stall.

We warmly invite all mothers and special women in our students’ lives to join us for this special occasion.

Parent & Friends Meeting

A reminder that our Term 2 Parent & Friends Meeting will be held on Monday 11th May at 7:00pm in the Kindergarten rooms. A Child Protection session for parent volunteers will take place prior to this at 6:30pm. We encourage your attendance and engagement in the life of our school.

Uniform

Given the continued mild weather, we will extend the option for students to wear either

summer or winter uniform until Monday of Week 5.

Thank you to all who have extended their condolences to Mrs Scullion and her family

during this difficult time. Please continue to keep Fiona, her boys, and her extended family in Australia and Ireland in your prayers.

In Fiona’s absence, I would like to acknowledge and commend Mr Criniti, who has stepped into multiple roles with professionalism and generosity supporting with the Assistant Principal responsibilities, REC duties, and classroom preparation.

I also extend my gratitude to Mrs Hamka and Mrs Pack for their leadership and care in stepping into Year 6.

It is in moments like these that the strength, unity and servant leadership of our staff are most evident. I am continually grateful for the remarkable team we have at St Francis Xavier.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support.

Have a great week ahead,

Brian Anderson
