Library News

Some more library updates...
Another two weeks has flown by in the library. Here's what we've been up to:
- 'Book-mas' Tree!
This week we built our Book-mas tree! Thank you to the Preps and 1/2s who did such a fabulous job of sorting and arranging books and to Gus for assisting with the final build. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
- Loaning out and returning books has become a team effort.
Students have shown a keen interest in using the library circulation system so they've started to help with the loaning and returning of books. Well done to everyone who's helped so far - we'll continue to rotate these tasks among all the class groups. If there are any parent volunteers who would be interested in volunteering to assist with basic library tasks in the new year (returning books, shelving, perfect ordering), please email library@sayarraville.catholic.edu.au and we'll pop you on a roster!
- Kidzone
We've recently subscribed to the Salvation Army publication 'Kidzone' and it's been a huge hit with everyone! You can get an idea of what the magazine is like here: https://www.kidzonemag.com.au/. Photocopies of the weekly colouring competition are made available to students every week - if they ask for your signature to enter, this is what they're referring to - sign your life away! Here's a few of their entries so far.
- Potrick has arrived at St Augustine's!
Our first shipment of our school picture story book Potrick the Caterpillar has arrived (and the books look SENSATIONAL)! If you didn't get a chance to place an order, we've re released a small amount of books for sale on our website sayarraville.catholic.edu.au/our-community/the-story-of-potrick.
Please remember to put the book launch date in your diaries - November 28th at 2.30pm. The Mayor of Maribyrnong will be joining us and our students will be reading the book for the first time.
Thank you to our St Augustine's community for everything that you do.
Keep happy. Keep reading.
