Dear parents, families and friends,
We have come to the end of week 6 of term. We are half way through the final term of 2025. I have spoken to a few parents and family members lately both before and after school and the common comment is that they cannot believe how fast the year has gone. Momemtum really seems to be increasing as we near the near the end of the year.
The daily morning assembly is a very important part of our day. It allows me to greet the community each day, make any announcements and prepare the students for the day. I really enjoy seeing the increasing number of parents and family members staying until after the end of assembly, in particular actively joining us in our Mindfulness Practice and Prayer.
This week on Tuesday we commemorated Remembrance Day. Now, moreso than ever it is important that we to remember all those that have lost their lives through war. Remembrance Day is not a celebration of war, it is remembering and praying for the souls of all those that either sacrificed or lost their lives in all the wars and conflicts that have happened since the First World War. It is a time to pray for peace in our world as we try to learn from the repeated mistakes of the past and resolve our problems, disagreements and conflicts in peaceful ways by listening, talking, compromising and forgiving.

Relocation to Building C
The move is just about over. The Preps and Year 1/2s have settled in, even the chickens. The Year 5/6s moved into the Art and Drama rooms this week. All of these classes will now be exiting from the senior through the gates at the corner of Birmingham and Avoca Streets at dismissal time.
Moving Timeline
Week 7 - Wednesday 19th November - Packing Up and storing LOTE and STEM resources.
Week 8 - Wednesday 26th November - Moving furniture and resources for Year 3/4s into LOTE and STEM rooms.
Working Bees
On each Wednesday afternoon (5th, 12th, 19th, 26th November) from 3.30pm to 4.30pm there is a working bee to assist staff with moving furniture and resources. A staff member will be available to supervise childrens in the junior playground if required.
We will hold one more working bee on Saturday 22nd November from 10am to 2pm to construct the gazebo, BBQ and outdoor kitchen. Again we will need as much help as we can, especially any parents with building experience as we are not sure what will be required for the install of the structure.
A very big thank you to all parents and family members who have helped out at each of our working bees so far. Your assistance is invaluable.
Book Launch
Potrick the Caterpillar, the book that all the students contributed to creating during Book Week, is being printed at the moment. We are going to hold an official Book Launch on Friday 28th November during school assembly at 2.30pm. The Mayor of Maribyrnong will be joining us to help launch Potrick the Caterpillar. We will present her with copies of the book to be placed in local libraries around the City of Maribyrnong.
Orders can be made via https://www.trybooking.com/DFQPA , but be sure to get in quick!
