Prep Afternoon Paint and Sip
Our Prep students recently enjoyed a wonderful Paint and Sip afternoon filled with creativity, laughter, and connection. The session was a chance for students to relax, explore their artistic sides, and share a joyful experience with their friends. With colourful paints, brushes, and plenty of imagination, each child created their own unique initial of their name to take home and treasure.
The afternoon was not only about painting but also about building relationships and celebrating teamwork. It was heartwarming to see the children interacting so joyfully encouraging one another, sharing materials, and expressing pride in their work. The classroom buzzed with conversation, music, and smiles as everyone enjoyed the calm yet lively atmosphere.
Events like these remind us how important it is to pause, celebrate, and enjoy simple, hands-on experiences together. Our Paint and Sip afternoon was truly a highlight of the week a chance the students to unwind, bond, and have fun while showing their growing confidence and creativity. I am so proud of our Preps for their enthusiasm, cooperation, and joyful spirit throughout the afternoon.
It was a wonderful celebration of learning, friendship, and fun!

Prep in the kitchen
Over the past two weeks, our Prep students have been busy preparing delicious meals, perfect for picnics and the summer holidays that are just around the corner. This week’s recipe: strawberry tarts!
Delicious buttery shortcrust pastry was cut to perfection, blind baked, and cooled. Meanwhile, students gave their strawberries a bath (washed them!), then using butter knives carefully sliced or diced their fruit. With the help of a hand mixer, they created a bowl of vanilla-flavoured thick cream that smelled divine.
Using two spoons, the Preps carefully filled their cooled pastry cases with cream and decorated them with their strawberries.
Then, the kitchen suddenly went quiet the sound of 20 young chefs enjoying their well-earned tarts!
After our sweet treat, we began planning an exciting new project that we will do with our buddies next week. We can’t share the secret just yet… but stay tuned more delicious fun will be revealed in the next newsletter!

In Week 5, Prep were set a challenge to prepare some delicious mini quiches using bread as the pastry base! The quiches turned out absolutely delicious, and using bread was such a quick and easy substitute for pastry.
First, we “painted” and greased our tins with olive oil, then placed our cut-out circles of bread inside. Next, we brushed the tops of the bases and popped them into the oven for five minutes, until they were just starting to brown.
Then it was time to prepare the egg mixture, which included some mysterious “green stuff” from the garden! The green stuff turned out to be fresh English spinach and parsley, freshly harvested by our class. The greens were finely chopped with scissors and added to eggs, sautéed onions, sea salt, and cracked pepper. Finally, we grated some cheddar cheese and wow, what a mix we created!
Carefully, we ladled the egg mixture into our bread cases and popped them back in the oven. The result?Absolutely delicious even the green stuff! 🥬😋

With the introduction of our Slinky Apple Machine, we now have 19 apples being eaten every day at fruit break! Green, red, big, or small — the Slinky Apple Machine does them all! We’ve had visitors from afar (¾’s) and some from nearby (½M and ½B), but the most important thing is that we’re all eating our fruit.Hip hip hooray for Slinky Apples! 🍎🎉

1/2B Wrapper free museli bars
1/2B have been enjoying their time over the past two weeks cooking up some delicious treats, perfect for their lunchboxes!
In week 6 we prepared atasty muesli bar that’s not only nutritious and delicious, but also wrapper-free — great for us and the planet! 🌏💚 We have also prepared a delicious chocolate and raspberry slice.

Did somebody call me 'chicken' ????
1/2MB did not believe that one of our chickens likes Miss Mathewson's shoulder. Everytime Miss Mathewson attends to her beloved 11, a certain feathered friend, Soda, escapes, only to spend time on her shoulder. We now have the proof 1/2MB!

In week 5, some of the Year 4 and 5 students attended Emmanuel College for a soccer fun day.
Students completed short round robin style matches with other Catholic Primary Schools in the area. It was a fun day, with many goals hitting back of nets!
To help support the day representatives from the Liverpool International Academy selected a student from each school who showed amazing effort, sportspersonship, support and kindess to their fellow team mates.
Congratulations to Tate for showing all these great qualities!!
