Creating Futures Together
As we approach the end of another busy and rewarding term, it is an ideal time to reflect on the many opportunities, achievements, and experiences that have shaped learning across our Wheelers Hill Secondary College community. The past few months have provided students with a rich and varied program, supporting not only academic growth but also wellbeing, connection, and personal development.
Throughout the term, our students have embraced a wide range of learning experiences designed to challenge and support them. A key milestone for our Year 7 and Year 9 students has been their participation in NAPLAN. These assessments provide valuable insight into student progress in literacy and numeracy, while also helping students develop confidence in applying their skills under test conditions. We commend our students for the calm and focused manner in which they approached these assessments and thank our staff for their support in preparing them.
Our senior students have also engaged in important learning beyond the classroom through their Focus Day, where they explored effective study habits, the importance of rest and relaxation, and the role of a balanced diet in supporting both wellbeing and academic performance. These are essential skills that will serve them well as they continue through their senior years.
Sport has once again played a significant role in Wheelers Hill Secondary College life this term. The Swimming and Diving Carnival early in the term showcased both talent and school spirit, with a number of students progressing to the next level of competition. This was followed by Senior School Sport, where students demonstrated teamwork and enthusiasm, and our Wheelers Hill Secondary College Athletics Carnival, which brought the community together in a celebration of participation, effort, and achievement. These events are always a highlight, reinforcing the importance of perseverance and striving for personal bests.
In addition to these events, students have continued to take part in a variety of co-curricular activities, clubs, and programs that enrich their overall school experience. These opportunities encourage creativity, collaboration, and a sense of belonging, and we are grateful to our staff who generously support these initiatives.
As the term draws to a close, it is important to recognise the collective effort of our students, staff, and families. There has been a strong sense of purpose and positivity across the Wheelers Hill Secondary College, with students demonstrating resilience and a willingness to engage in all aspects of school life.
We now look forward to the upcoming holiday period, which provides a valuable opportunity to rest, recharge, and reflect. I encourage all students to take time to relax, enjoy time with family and friends, and return next term ready to embrace new challenges and opportunities.
Thank you to our entire College community for your ongoing support and commitment throughout the term. We wish you all a safe and enjoyable break.
