Year 12 English

Our Year 12 English students have been working closely with VCAA English Chief Assessor Helen Billett to hone their skills! 

English Masterclasses: Showing their high level of commitment, students have engaged in after-school lessons run via Zoom. These sessions have given opportunities for our students to ‘get ahead’ with exam preparation and work with people from other schools in Gippsland. Most importantly, students are provided with a chance to practice skills and get targeted feedback from the person who created the study design. They think the snacks are an added bonus! 

Targeted lessons: During Year 12 Learn to Learn classes, Helen has delivered targeted lessons to our students. This week’s lesson focused on practicing the use of linguistic features and establishing an individual voice in their own writing. When students meet via Zoom, they are able to send their writing directly to Helen and receive immediate feedback. 

Our continued work with Helen has enabled our English results to go from strength to strength. We are looking forward to more of Helen’s high engaging session and an all-day workshop in May!
