Principal's Report

Dear Families, Students and Community Members,
As we reach the end of Term 1, it is an excellent opportunity to reflect on what has been a highly positive and productive start to the year.
One of the most encouraging trends we have seen from our students is a continued improvement in student attendance, building on the successes last year. Every day at school truly counts. Regular attendance not only supports academic progress but also strengthens students’ sense of connection, wellbeing, and engagement in school life. It has been pleasing to see so many students’ demonstrating commitment to their learning by attending consistently and making the most of every opportunity in the classroom.
This term, progress reports and our recent Parent-Teacher-Student Interviews that concluded today, have provided valuable insight into student learning. Families, students, and teachers have engaged in meaningful discussions focused on growth, achievement, and next steps. It has been wonderful to see students taking ownership of their learning and from here, will be able to set clear goals for continued improvement next term.
We are also excited to share that the school toilet upgrade is progressing well. The plastering stage is nearly complete, and we look forward to seeing the finished facilities by the end of Term 2. This project will greatly enhance the comfort and experience of our students.
Our recent Open Night was another highlight of the term. We were thrilled with the large turnout of prospective families and the strong sense of community on display. A special thank you goes to our amazing students who led tours on the night and all the teachers and staff in attendance for sharing their enthusiasm and passion for our school, our students and what they teach. The students leading the tours and helping on the night represented the school with confidence, pride, and enthusiasm, and we received a great deal of positive feedback about their leadership and friendliness.
We recently held our School Council Annual General Meeting, where we had the opportunity to both welcome new parent representatives and acknowledge the contributions of those who have completed their time on Council. We sincerely thank our outgoing parent representatives for their dedication, support, and commitment to our school community. We are also delighted to welcome our new parent members and look forward to their involvement and fresh perspectives. A special thank you is extended to Peter Neaves for his outstanding leadership and service as School Council President. His commitment and guidance have been greatly valued. We now warmly welcome Kevin Hanson into the role of School Council President and look forward to working together in the year ahead.
As the term comes to a close, we would like to thank our entire school community for their ongoing support and partnership. We wish all students and families a safe and happy Easter break and look forward to another successful term ahead.
Happy Easter to all.
Ms. Jennifer Roep
Principal
