Cheer Success
Recently, Olivia Carpenter, Charlotte Pond, Ruby Stam, Libby Hegarty and Aida De Flart, from Dance Inc Adelaide, Dance and Cheerleading, competed at the Cheercon State Championships at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
Olivia, Charlotte, Ruby and Libby had an amazing Championships, becoming State Champions in Junior Level 2 Cheerleading, and with that claiming qualification to the 2026 World Championships in Montréal, Canada. They also went on to claim first in Intermediate Jazz, and second in Junior Level 3 Cheerleading, Intermediate Lyrical and Novice POM.
Furthermore, Aida De Flart, claimed first place in Open Jazz, and then went on to join Charlotte Pond and Ruby Stam to claim first place in Senior Lyrical.
It was such a successful Championships for these amazingly talented athletes.
A well-deserved reward for all their incredible hard work, commitment and dedication.
University Level Extension Studies and Accelerate Program
Uni SA’s Accelerate program and Flinders University’s Extension Studies give high-performing students in Year 12 the chance to study a university subject. Students apply for the program while in Year 11 and positions in the programs are competitive.
Involvement in the program requires independence, dedication and a high level of motivation. Completing these courses counts, both towards your SACE and ATAR, as well as towards university credits in connected courses.
We have several students involved in the program this year, but we particularly want to celebrate the achievements of Emily Heng who received a Distinction in Intercultural Communication at UniSA, Amity Williams for a High Distinction in Critical Thinking at Flinders University and Arsany Youhanna who also achieved a High Distinction in Critical Thinking at Flinders in Semester 1.
Using SACE’s recognised studies, a Distinction counts as a scaled A+ and a High Distinction an A+ with merit towards students ATAR equivalent to an A+ with merit for 10-credits.
This is an outstanding achievement, and we are very proud of their efforts.
Each of our students involved in Accelerate and Extension Studies has continued into Semester 2 and we wish them all the best as they complete their programs.
In 2026, the new Adelaide University will run their new ACTIVATE program and Flinders Uni will continue to run their Extension Studies program. Applications for 2026 Extension Studies and ACTIVATE will be open for high performing Year 11 students in Term 4 through Mrs Frahn.
