MS KATH JONES - DEPUTY PRINCIPAL: COMMUNITY & CULTURE
Dear Parents,
Two weeks ago, I held an assembly with the girls to discuss some ongoing concerns regarding the school uniform. Unfortunately, some of the comments made during that assembly caused upset among several students. In an effort to address the situation, we held a special, brief assembly for the entire student body. During this assembly, I shared the following message:
Apology to Students Regarding Recent Uniform Assembly
Dear Students,
I want to take a moment to sincerely apologise to you all for the way the recent girl’s assembly regarding the school uniform was conducted. It has come to my attention that some of the messages delivered have made you feel uncomfortable, singled out, or unfairly judged— and for that, I am truly sorry.
It was never my intention to embarrass or upset anyone. My goal was to reinforce our shared expectations as a school community, but I recognise now that the tone and approach have not reflected the respect and care you all deserve. As your Deputy Principal, it is my responsibility to ensure that every student feels safe, valued, and heard — and I deeply regret any way in which I may have fallen short of that.
I appreciate those of you who have taken the time to share your honest feedback. Moving forward, I am committed to listening more carefully, communicating more thoughtfully, and working with you all to ensure that any future discussions are respectful, inclusive, and constructive.
If you would like to speak further or share your thoughts, my door is always open. Thank you for holding me accountable and helping to shape a school environment we can all be proud of.
Sincerely,
Kath Jones
