Literacy - 1/2T Senses Poems

The narrative book that our Year 1/2s are researching at present is called Ella and the Ocean by Lian Tanner. Today we used our senses to talk about our own experiences of visiting the ocean.

I see the shining blue water.

I hear the waves crushing on my feet.

I feel the breeze washing through my hair.

I smell the salt rubbing off on the sandbank.

I taste the salt from the glimmering water.

By Addie

I see the sparkling ocean.

I hear the splashing waves.

I feel the freezing cold water.

I smell the salty water.

I taste the salty water on my tongue.

By Lachy S

I see the beautiful sea

I hear the sea wind

I feel the sea weed

I smell the sea salt

I taste the sea salt while jumping

I see the beautiful blue sea.

I hear the waves coming

I feel wet water dripping on me

I taste the salty water on my tongue

I see a blue ocean

I hear the waves

I feel the air

I smell the seaweed

I taste nothing

I see the sparkling blue water.

I hear the waves splashing against the glimmering sand.

I feel the waves tickling my toes.

I smell the salty smell of the crushing waves.

I taste the salty taste of the big blue sea.

I see the shimmering blue water.

I hear blue waves.

I feel warm and happy.

I smell the sand.

I taste the salty water.

By Julia

I see the beautiful blue ocean

I hear the seagulls gulp up the fish

I feel the sandstones heating my feet

I smell the sea salt go up my nose

I taste the sand blowing in my mouth

By Marley
