Principals Report
Sue Carr
Dear Parents, Carers and Friends of St Brendan’s,
Welcome to Term Three. It was wonderful to welcome all our students back to school last Monday. They have returned to school and have already demonstrated how quickly they readjust to routine and all that is familiar about school and learning. It appears that they have all benefitted from their holiday after a long Term Two.
Year 5/6 Camp
I must say that our school was a very quiet place from Wednesday morning until Friday afternoon. Our Year 5/6 students and their wonderfully intrepid band of teachers and LSO’s boarded the buses, waved goodbye to parents and headed off down the highway to Phillip Island Adventure Camp.
The campers had a brilliant trip where kindness, encouragement, bravery and teamwork were the order of the days away from school. I’ll let you look at the photos to see what a great time our students had and how many of them stepped out of their comfort zones to be there.
The staff who attended the camp said that the students were a wonderful group to take away. I would like to acknowledge what a huge responsibility it is to care for other people's children night and day for two nights and three days. I’d like to acknowledge and thank Marg Van Der Peet, Holly Waldock, Kylie Edgar, Sharon Christensen, Siobhan Brickwood, Sarah Bagshaw, Justin Barry and Bernie Turner for their care and support of our precious students.
It was also very pleasing to see many of our Year 4 students show initiative and step up seeking to carry out the roles usually carried out by our seniors. It fills me with pride and hope to know that our next band of senior leaders are waiting in the wings for their opportunity to lead and to shine.
If you happen to catch one of our Year 5/6 teachers, LSO’s or Justin Barry and Bernie Turner, please acknowledge and thank them for leaving their homes and families so that our senior students could enjoy this wonderful experience.
Dog in the School Grounds
Please be aware that St Brendan’s is a dog free zone. I am aware that the parents of our Foundation students may not be aware of this regulation. Several children are really scared of dogs and it is our first priority to ensure that the children feel safe and secure at school. Thank you for your support in this matter.
S.A.C - School Advisory Council Meeting 29th July 2025
I am eternally grateful to the people from our school community who have volunteered to represent the wider parent body and to support the leaders of St Brendan’s to make wise and just decisions about the effective running of our school.
This group will meet tonight at 7.00pm in the staffroom.
Frozen Junior
We are so excited at St Brendan’s as our musical for 2025 is really beginning to take shape. To support us in making this show a huge success, we respectfully request that parents read all communication - on Audiri, in the school newsletter or by note sent home in the reader wallet.
This communication includes important information about:
Costume requirements
Ticketing
Arrangements on the night day/evening of the production
I thank you all for your ongoing support of school. As always, please don’t hesitate to see me if you have a concern or a problem. I will happily meet with you to find the best way forward.
Have a wonderful week.
Warm regards,
Sue
