Principal Report

What a fantastic start we have had to Term 4! Our first two weeks have been filled with enthusiasm, with students quickly settling back into classroom routines and reconnecting with their teachers and friends. It has been wonderful to see so many smiling faces during our classroom visits.

This week, we welcomed our 2027 Prep students for their first Leap Into Learning session. This is an exciting milestone as they begin getting to know their new school. A very warm welcome to our new families joining the Oatlands Primary School community. We look forward to sharing this special journey with you.

Term 4 is also a wonderful time to encourage students to continue ‘growing their friendship garden’. Making new connections, including others in games and activities, and working with different classmates can help students feel confident and comfortable as they prepare for class changes next year. Families can support this by encouraging their children to get to know someone new and broaden their circle of friends.

Our first Japan Discovery trip has been underway for the past ten days, and what an adventure it has been! Brown-sensei (Kendall Brown), Ms Morgan (Deanne Morgan) and ten of our Grade 6 students have been enjoying an incredible experience. From Disneyland and Harry Potter World to exploring Tokyo, Kyoto and Hiroshima, our students have immersed themselves in Japanese culture, history and unforgettable experiences. It has been wonderful to follow their journey and see the excitement, learning and friendships they are sharing. We look forward to hearing their stories when they return!

There is still so much to look forward to this term, with plenty of events, celebrations and learning opportunities ahead. We look forward to a fantastic Term 4 together!
