Safe Crossings – Safe Kids

At Bimbadeen Heights Primary School, the safety of our students is always a top priority. This week, our SRC representatives will be speaking to their grades about an important road safety initiative, and posters will be displayed near classroom entrances as reminders.

The focus of this initiative is helping students learn safe habits around school crossings and on the roads. We encourage all families to support this by modelling safe behaviours and reminding children to always use crossings correctly.

How parents can help

You play an important role in keeping our students safe. Please:

• Always use the designated school crossings with your child, even if it means walking a little further.
• Remind children to stop, look, listen and think before stepping onto the crossing.
• Never call your child across the road – meet them and walk together.
• Obey the 40km/h speed limit around the school and watch for students crossing.
• Park safely and legally, even if you are in a hurry.

• Encourage older children to continue using the crossings rather than taking shortcuts.

POETRY COMPETITION 2025

Our Year 1 to Year 6 students have been busy rehearsing and performing their poetry recitals. All the teachers were very impressed with the enthusiasm, persistence and confidence that students have shown whilst performing their poems in front of their peers and teachers. 

Congratulations to the students listed below who are our year level finalists and winners. All finalists and winners received a certificate and the year level winners were presented with their special winner’s medal during our assembly last Friday.
