Gardening Club News

This term, in Gardening Club, we have been quite busy! Our wonderful team of hardworking gardeners have been very creative in planting out our new FAIRY GARDEN.

In a little empty garden space, behind the Grade One building and on the way to the Art Room, we have started planting sensational succulents and superb spider-plants to start constructing a new imaginative space. We dug out an old stump and worked as a team to create what is going to be a beautiful garden. In the upcoming months, we endeavour to install stepping stones, a fairy house, gnomes and a little spot to sit. It will be a fabulous feature in our school. A big thank you to Jo P for donating the plants!

While these plants are growing, we ask that everyone treats them with care and respect by staying out of the garden until it is ready. Please avoid this area as a play space and do not step on our plants. We look forward to sharing this garden when it is complete.

We have also selected a fantastic position for our new bird box, donated by the students from Mt Lilydale Mercy College. Stay tuned for pictures post-install.

Some reminders from the Gardening Club Crew:

  • Show respect and care to our plant and not pull their leaves and branches. Breaking branches changes a tree forever.
  • Rubbish stays inside - put it in the classroom bin or your lunchbox. If you see rubbish, show integrity and pick it up. Rubbish belongs in the bin, not in the garden.
  • Please use the paths, not the garden. We want to replant the front garden around the grassy hill, but we can’t while people are in the habit of using it as a path. We want to make a nice space for everyone and the animals.
