Debutante Ball

On Friday the 5th of September, many Year 10 and 11 students participated in their Debutant Ball. It was an early start to a big day, especially for the girls, getting their hair and make-up done and making their final preparations. Once we were all beautified, it was time get dressed in our elegant gowns and the boys in their smart suits. We then headed to the Beaufort Football Netball Club rooms for the professional photos, with our families attending a little later.
When all the photos were finished, the debutantes and their partners hopped on a bus before being whisked off to the Beaufort Shire Hall. Once there, we entered through the back doors where we waited nervously behind the stage curtains for our turn to be presented.
After the presentations, it was on to the formal dancing. Starting with the Waltz, the deb’s floated around the floor on the arm of their partner, doing their best to remember all the steps. When the presentation dances were finished, we had a father-daughter, mother-son dance, giving our parents a chance to share in the special evening.
Then it was time to let our hair down (figuratively) and have some fun! The DJ was set and we were ready to party! Everyone danced and mingled, making the most of an incredible evening, before finally hanging up our dancing shoes at 10:00pm.
Thanks to all the staff and parents who helped organise and plan the event and to all those who were in attendance on the night. We had a great time!
