Bake Sale

During the final week of August, Ebony and I, held a bake sale in the Student Centre to raise money for the Trawalla Wildlife Shelter. We sold Salted Caramel Cheesecakes, Cupcakes, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Chocolate Brownies and Mars Bar Slice. It took us four periods to bake all the food and even though some of the recipes didn't quite go according to plan, we raised $70 and had a great time organising everything. Thank you to Mrs Powlett and Ms Wigg for assisting with the stall and to Mrs Jenkins for cleaning the kitchen.

Casual Clothes 'Dress Like a Farmer' Day and Sausage Sizzle

On Friday the 5th September, I held a Casual Clothes Day and Sausage Sizzle, encouraging my peers to "dress like a farmer' for the day, in support of Rural Aid. I chose this charity as they help many Australian farmers struggling through natural disasters. By providing critical funding, hay and water donations, alongside crucial mental health support, their ongoing assistance has been vital to the industry.

Congratulations to Izzy Cahill, who took out the award for Best Dressed, earning herself a $5 canteen voucher. Thank you to all those who assisted along the way. I have learned that organising an event like this is much harder than it looks, as it takes a lot of time to plan and many people helping out. In the end it was all worth it, as we raised $350 to help Rural Aid continue to support farmers in need.

Barista Coffees for Staff

Savanna, Connor and I decided to hold a barista coffee fundraiser for staff of the College and Beaufort Early Childhood Centre. Our chosen charity was Breast Cancer Australia, as, like many people, we've had family members who have suffered from it. We ended up raising $184 and learnt how to make good coffee along the way. Thanks to all the staff who helped by purchasing a coffee or two or who just generally supported the event.

Upcoming Carwash

During the final week of term, we are running a carwash to help raise funds for our Year 11 camp in December. The event will take place over three days (15th, 17th and 19th of September) and is a great opportunity to not only get your car washed, but also to help us raise some money in the process.  Having previously held a successful carwash fundraiser in Term 2, we opted to do another. We would like to thank our Year 11 VCE VM classmates, for assisting us with the event and staff for allowing us to wash their cars.
