Year 3-6 Religion

We are all made in God's image. In God's image we all have our own strengths, interests  important relationships, values, communities you belong to, qualities you are proud of  and goals or hopes.  It is our responsibility then to use all these, to shine our light for others.

Foundation - Grade 1 Maths

In Foundation we have started our unit on Addition and Subtraction. We have been using part-part-whole counting to figure out how many items there are all together. Have a look at the teddy bears and how we can put them together to find the whole.

In Grade 1 we have started our unit on measurement. We have been looking at informal units of measurement and following a checklist to ensure that we are measuring correctly. We have been practicing measuring items making sure our units of measurement are being used end to end.

AFL Footy Report

Braxton and Edmund went to Catherine McAuley College to take part in a footy competition. We combined with students from Inglewood Primary School and Lockwood South Primary School to form the Loddon Calder team. It was great getting to meet and play with students from other schools.

In our first game, we played East Loddon. We tried our best, but unfortunately, we lost. It was still good because we got to see Cooper and some of our other friends who were playing for the other team.

For our second game, we played Axedale Primary School on Oval 5. We worked well as a team, shared the ball and managed to win by 30 points. Everyone was excited to get our first win of the day.

In game three, we played Victory Primary School. It was a tough game and we lost, but we did not give up and kept trying until the final siren.

Our last game was against St Peter’s. We played really well and won by 60 points, which is equal to 10 goals. This was our biggest win of the day and a great way to finish the competition. Overall, we won two games and lost two games. We received four points for each win, giving us eight points altogether.

Results: 2 wins, 0 draws and 2 losses.

We had an amazing day playing footy and had lots of fun. We enjoyed playing with students from other schools, competing against different teams and representing Loddon Calder. We would definitely like to do it again, especially if it means we do not have to do any schoolwork!
