100 Days of Learning!

On Monday the 27th of July the Junior students will be celebrating 100 days of school! This is an amazing achievement for our students displaying that they have been completing full school learning and development for 100 days. Students will have a fun filled day with activities organised around the number 100.

St Mary's Football Tipping Competition

Thank you for your support of our AFL Football Tipping Competition over the past 9 years. Just a reminder, if you haven't paid your $25 entry fee, please do so, as the prize money will be determined once the number of paid tippers is known. The more paid tippers the bigger the prizemoney.

The breakup prize money will be 1st - 60%, 2nd - 25% & 3rd - 15%

Staff Spirituality Day

Wednesday 5th August. Pupil free day for students.

On this day all schools will be gathering in hubs across our Diocese as part of our Catholic Mission and faith development. We will be listening to guest speakers as well as participating in a variety of workshops. We look forward to this opportunity to gather together and strengthen and learn more about our role as Catholic teachers within the Diocese of Sandhurst.

Teach Well - Staff Professional Development

Wednesday 12th August. Pupil free day for students.

Please be advised that St Mary’s will be closed to students while staff participate in a CESL-directed Teach Well Professional Learning Day. Teach Well supports teachers to use evidence-informed, high-impact teaching practices. Staff will focus on explicit instruction, checking student understanding, providing effective feedback, maintaining high expectations and using classroom routines that maximise learning time.

This professional learning also supports our ongoing implementation of Magnify Sandhurst and our commitment to providing calm, consistent and engaging classrooms where every student can experience success. We understand that student-free days may require families to make alternative care arrangements and thank you for your understanding.

Division Netball Championships 29th July

Our Year 3-6 students are looking forward to participating in the upcoming school netball tournament at Red Energy in Golden Square. Feel free to come along and support our school as games commence promptly at 9.30am. Both the girls’ competition, played on the outdoor courts, and the boys/mixed competition, played indoors, will follow a round-robin format with games consisting of two eight-minute halves. Volunteers welcome.

Athletics 11th August

The whole school will be participating the LCDSSA Athletics Carnival at the Lar Birpa Athletics Complex in Flora Hill. Students will be departing St Mary's at 9:10am and will return to school at 3:10pm. We ask students to wear full PE uniform and bring a hat, packed lunch, snack and drink bottle. If your child requires any relevant medications (e.g. Ventolin puffers, etc) please ensure that they bring them. Please bring a warm coat, as children will be sitting in the elements for extended periods of time throughout the day.

We are also seeking parent volunteers to help supervise/score at the event, so please indicate below if you can assist on the day. This is an excellent opportunity to see your child in action, as parents are not allowed on course throughout the day, however, you will still be able to stand on the other side of the fencing.
