I hope all of our members were able to get a break during the term break and not feeling too impacted by Melbourne's cold weather!

Over the break it was a pleasure to be a guest at The Academy's Middle Leaders Conference and hear from Dr Kylie Lipscombe from the University of Wollongong and Ryan Dunn from the University of Melbourne. A great opportunity to think on the role that our middle leaders play in schools and how the capacity building, mentoring and influence that we provide as principals shapes the next generation of school leaders.

We understand that the role of school leadership has never been more complex, and you don't have to navigate it alone. Whether you are seeking advice, support, clarification on policy or employment matters, or simply value a collegiate conversation with people who understand the realities of the role, the APF is here for you. We encourage all members to contact us at any time - we are committed to providing practical support, informed advice, and strong advocacy whenever you need it.

Changes coming for Pay Day Superannuation

The ATO has introduced new super regulations, Pay Day Super, that are effective 1 July 2026.

Please see the attached Payday Super Summary prepared by Schools People Services, which outlines the relevant upcoming changes and the key actions required by schools.

Please review the document and familiarise yourself with the actions schools need to take.
