and Mission...

Altar Serving

Last Friday, we held our first altar serving practice for students who have volunteered to serve at our parish Masses.  The children did a wonderful job learning about this special ministry and beginning their journey of serving our parish community.

It was lovely to see their enthusiasm, reverence and willingness to take on this important role.  We look forward to continuing to learn and grow together over the coming weeks.

If your child would still like to be involved and you have not yet returned the altar serving form, please send it in as soon as possible.  Forms can be given to your child’s classroom teacher or handed in at the school office.

Season of Creation - Living Water

Next week we begin the Season of Creation, a special time in the Church year from 1 September to 4 October (Feast day of St. Francis) when Christians around the world are invited to pray for and care for our common home.

The 2026 theme is Living Water, inspired by the beautiful image in Ezekiel of water flowing out into the world, bringing new life wherever it goes.

As we enter this season, perhaps we can each notice one small way we can care for God’s creation - spending time outdoors, using less, wasting less, caring for our gardens and animals or simply stopping to be grateful for the beauty around us.

Loving God,

help us to notice your presence in all creation

and to care gently for the world you have given us.

Amen
