Secondary School
This week, the Year Twelve leaders took over assembly and reminded us all of the importance of teamwork and belonging. We heard from our Boarding Captains, who shared their reflections on the theme. Our leadership team was also quizzed on questions about one another, proving that after working together for a year, they know each other quite well.
It has been wonderful to see the Year Twelve leaders take increasing ownership of assembly over the past three weeks, eager to make their mark during their final full term of school.
We also launched our 2027 leadership process this week. The Year Eleven students have been working on their applications for the past couple of weeks and from next week, the rest of the Secondary School, including both students and staff, will be able to express their support for those they believe are the standout role models within the cohort. This may be someone from their homeroom, their bus, or another area of the school, such as music or sport. Students will also have the opportunity to express their support for their preferred House Captain candidates.
Finally, our Head of Arts, Ms Rachel Mordy, presented to students about the Paris Tour 2027. This tour was initially placed on hold due to international unrest, but now that conditions have stabilised, we are once again seeking expressions of interest from students. If the tour goes ahead, it is sure to be a wonderful and enriching experience for all involved.

Proposed Paris Tour 2027
We are delighted to be recommencing planning for the Paris Tour in 2027. We are now planning to offer it during the Term Three holidays in September and October 2027. The tour will run for ten days and is open to students enrolled in Years Ten, Eleven and Twelve in 2027.
Paris is one of Europe's most beautiful cities, offering a rich cultural heritage, world-renowned cuisine and fascinating history. The Eiffel Tower, the Mona Lisa, the Louvre, Notre-Dame, the Palace of Versailles and Monet's Gardens are just some of the highlights of the tour. If you would like to express your interest in this tour, please complete the 2027 Paris Tour Expression of Interest form by Thursday 10 September. There will an information session on Monday 21 September in the school Library at 5.00pm. Please note that priority placement will be given to students who expressed interest in the tour earlier this year.

Students Shine in CinefestOZ Cinesnaps Competition
We are thrilled to congratulate Max Cruse (Year Eleven) and Grace Eckersley (Year Eleven), who have been selected as finalists in the prestigious Cinesnaps Short Film Competition, part of the CinefestOZ Film Festival.
This year's theme, 'Reflect', challenged young filmmakers to explore the concept of reflection in creative and thought-provoking ways. Both students produced outstanding films that earned them a place among the finalists.
As finalists, Max and Grace will attend the CinefestOZ Red Carpet Event in September, where their films will be screened on the big screen and reviewed by industry professionals.
Max's film, Our Gift, is a science-fiction comedy about a boy whose watch accidentally attracts the attention of aliens, leading to unexpected consequences. Grace's documentary, Who Do You See?, explores identity, self-perception and body dysmorphia through interviews with transgender and gender-fluid individuals.
We congratulate Max and Grace on this outstanding achievement and wish them every success at CinefestOZ. We are incredibly proud of their creativity, courage and storytelling skills.
