Senior School Learning, Connection and Adventure
It has been a wonderfully busy time in the Senior School, with our students involved in an exciting range of learning experiences, excursions, performances, celebrations and opportunities to connect with our wider community.
We celebrated our 100 Days of School and Beyond, giving our Senior School students the opportunity to celebrate their learning journey, friendships and growth at COHR.
“It was fun celebrating how far we’ve come and thinking about all the memories we’ve made at COHR.” Miles
Our Grade 5 and 6 students recently visited the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie, where they explored Food and Fibre Production, Fair Trade and sustainability. Students discovered where cocoa comes from, how chocolate is produced and the many ways the Chocolaterie works to care for the environment and support cocoa-growing communities.
“I didn’t realise how much goes into making chocolate before we actually eat it!” Alba
Students were fascinated to learn about the Chocolaterie’s solar farm, rainwater collection and wetland, as well as the work being done to support farmers in the Ivory Coast.
“It was interesting to learn that buying chocolate can actually help support farmers and their families.” Karla
We have also welcomed some very special visitors to COHR. Senior Constable Sara and Constable Elias spoke to students about road safety, following road rules and their role in keeping our community safe.
“I liked hearing about what police officers actually do every day. There is much more to their job than I thought!” Harry
Our students were also thrilled to welcome Collingwood AFLW players for a Q&A session. It was particularly special to see past student Charlotte Brewer return to COHR and share her football journey.
“It was inspiring hearing how Charlotte started here at COHR and has worked towards playing AFLW.” Claudia
Our Grade 6 students prepared for the Sacrament of Confirmation, participating in a Reflection Day with students from Sacred Heart and gathering with their families for Family Faith Night.
“The Reflection Day gave us time to think about what Confirmation actually means to us.” Alyssa
Creativity has been a big part of life in the Senior School, with students working hard in preparation for Stone Soup. From learning lines and songs to creating the impressive backdrops, students have shown fantastic teamwork and commitment.

Camp ADANAC Connection, Teamwork and Memories
A huge highlight for our Senior School students was Camp Adanac. It was an amazing opportunity for students to step outside their comfort zones, challenge themselves, try new experiences and most importantly, grow closer together.
Camp created opportunities for students to work with people they may not normally work with, solve problems as a team and encourage one another when activities became challenging.
“Camp was good because we all had to work together and help each other out.” Dilum
We saw so many examples of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility throughout the camp. Students encouraged their friends, celebrated each other's successes and showed determination when something didn't go to plan.
“Everyone was encouraging each other. Even if someone was nervous, people helped them have a go.” Grace
For some students, camp was about overcoming a fear or doing something they hadn't thought they could do.
“I surprised myself because I did things I didn't think I would be able to do.” Ari
For others, the best part was simply spending time together, laughing and creating memories outside the classroom.
“It was fun being with everyone without being in our normal classroom. We got to know each other better. Movie night was fun too!” Philip
There were plenty of laughs, adventures and memorable moments, but the most important part of Camp Adanac was the connection that developed between our students.

Students returned tired but very happy, with plenty of stories to share and a stronger sense of belonging.

It has certainly been a busy time, but it has also been a time filled with learning, creativity, courage, connection and growth. We are incredibly proud of the way our students continue to embrace new experiences, support one another and live out our COHR values every day.
