Dear Parents and Friends

It is hard to believe that we have already reached the halfway point of the term! Time is certainly flying, and our students have been busy learning, growing and enjoying so many wonderful experiences here at St Carlo’s.

There is always so much happening across our school, and I continue to be incredibly proud of our students and grateful for the commitment of our wonderful staff and families. I hope you enjoy reading through today’s newsletter and seeing some of the rich learning, achievements and community spirit that make St Carlo’s such a special place.

Congratulations to Miss Caifa!

Some lovely news to share! Congratulations to Ebony and her fiancé, Konrad, on their recent engagement.  We wish you both every happiness and blessing as you celebrate this exciting milestone and look forward to this wonderful next chapter together. Congratulations!

Year 1 Family Mass

Yesterday, we celebrated our Year 1 Family Mass, and it was wonderful to see so many students and families joining us.  Congratulations to everyone involved, particularly our wonderful readers and altar servers, who did such a great job.

It is always terrific to see our families attending Parish Masses here at St Carlo’s. We encourage families to attend Mass whenever they can - you are always very welcome and an important part of our Parish community.

School Production – Journey Together: The Greatest Adventure!

The excitement is building! Our whole-school production, Journey Together – The Greatest Adventure!, is now only a few weeks away.

Our performances will be held at the Clocktower Centre on:

• Wednesday 2 September – Cast A
• Thursday 3 September – Cast B

Parents, be prepared to be amazed! Our students have been working incredibly hard, and we cannot wait for you to see them perform on stage.

Today was our first rehearsal at the Clocktower Centre, and it went extremely well. Seeing the students on the stage really brought everything together, and we know this is going to be a very special production.

A huge thank you to Mrs Milan and Mrs Barca for the enormous amount of work they have put into bringing the production together. Thank you also to all our staff for the time, energy and enthusiasm they continue to give to rehearsals and preparations.

Additional tickets are now available, so if you are hoping to attend, please don't leave it too late. We expect both performances to sell out. The countdown is on!

Book Week

It is nearly here! Book Week is always one of the most exciting weeks on our school calendar. Next Thursday is our much-anticipated Book Week Dress-Up Day. We know how much our students love this day, and we are looking forward to seeing all the wonderful and creative costumes!

School Uniform

Wearing the correct school uniform is an important part of belonging to St Carlo’s, and we expect all students to wear their uniform correctly and with pride. All items for both the old and new uniforms are available through our official uniform supplier, Noone. Only approved uniform items purchased through Noone should be worn to school.

Recently, members of our Leadership Team visited each classroom to talk with students about our uniform expectations. We even showed them a little trick for identifying the official St Carlo’s uniform - look for SCB embroidered on the back of the school pants and on the front of the school shorts and tracksuit pants!

Annual Father’s Day Breakfast

On Monday 7 September, we will celebrate the wonderful dads, grandfathers and special men who play such an important role in the lives of our students. Our celebration is being held on Monday this year rather than Friday, as Friday is a School Closure Day. We warmly invite you to join us for our annual Father’s Day Breakfast, with bacon and egg rolls and a selection of fresh fruit.

8:15 am – 9:10 am | Father’s Day Breakfast

Join us in the School Hall for breakfast. All dads, grandfathers, special men and students are warmly welcome. Students will return to their classrooms at 8:50 am.

9:10 am – 9:40 am | Classroom Activity

Following breakfast, dads, grandfathers and special guests are invited to visit their child/ren in the eldest sibling’s classroom for a special Father’s Day family activity.

• Please RSVP via the eForm by Wednesday 2 September. If you are joining us for breakfast, please remember to place an order via QKR! for yourself, your special guests and your child/ren.

We look forward to another wonderful morning celebrating all the special men in our students’ lives.

Father’s Day Stall

Our wonderful Parents & Friends Association will be running our annual Father’s Day Stall on Tuesday 1 September. Students will have the opportunity to purchase a special gift for their dad, grandfather or another important person in their life, with gifts ranging from $1.00 to $15.00. For our younger students, please place their money in a clearly labelled purse or zip-lock bag to help keep it safe. We also ask that each child brings a plastic bag to carry their gift home.

Parent Code of Conduct

At St Carlo’s, parents and staff share the same goal- to provide the very best possible environment for our children to learn, grow and feel safe.

From time to time, issues will naturally arise between children. When they do, please trust that our staff will listen, investigate and respond carefully and fairly, always with the wellbeing of the children at the centre of our decisions.

Our Parent Code of Conduct helps ensure St Carlo’s remains a safe, respectful and welcoming community for everyone. In particular, we ask parents to remember that it is never appropriate to approach, question or discipline another person’s child. If you have a concern involving students, please speak with your child’s teacher or a member of the Leadership Team and allow us to manage the situation.

Every member of our community has the right to feel safe, respected and valued—even when we may not always agree. Respectful communication and working together provide the best example for our children.

Parent WhatsApp and Messenger Groups

We know that parents in some year levels have created WhatsApp or Messenger groups, and these can be a great way for families to connect, share reminders and support one another.

It is important to remember, however, that these groups are created and managed privately by parents and are not monitored or managed by the school. Comments made within these groups represent individual views and not those of St Carlo’s.

We ask everyone to use these groups in the same respectful and considerate way we would expect when communicating face-to-face. They should never be used to air grievances or make negative or personal comments about staff, students or other families.

If you have a concern about something that has happened at school, please come and speak with us directly. A conversation with the right person is almost always the best and quickest way to resolve an issue.

Thank you for helping us maintain the positive and respectful community that we value so highly at St Carlo’s.

Looking Ahead – 2027

Believe it or not, planning for the 2027 school year is already well underway.

We currently have waiting lists in several year levels, so if your family is relocating or you know that your child will not be returning to St Carlo’s in 2027, please let me know as soon as possible.

When contacting us, please include the name of your child’s new school so we can arrange the necessary transfer documentation.

As always, thank you for your ongoing support and for the many ways you contribute to our wonderful school. The partnership between our families and staff is such an important part of what makes St Carlo’s the community it is.
