Wellbeing Report

Year 5 Young Leaders Program

Our Year 5 students participated in their second leadership workshop this week. After surveying every class across the school, the team identified an important focus area for our school to explore and improve, this is “All students feeling safe and comfortable in the school yard”. Our students worked hard to create an action plan to address this issue over the next 2 terms. One strategy developed is lunch clubs run by our year 5 leaders. You may start to see some posters popping up around the school in the coming weeks. We are incredibly proud of the leadership, empathy, and initiative our students are showing as they work together to create a more inclusive playground for everyone.

SWPBS (School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support)

Our Student School Council and teaching staff have now contributed their ideas towards our school behaviour matrix. These are positively stated expected behaviours for different areas of our school. These behaviours will be explicitly taught and reinforced by all staff at Millwarra P.S. You will start seeing these behaviour matrices displayed around our school soon.

In Wellbeing lessons

This week we were fortunate enough to have our first martial arts lesson. During these sessions students are learning about respect, confidence, self-control, patience and emotional regulation. We are fortunate enough to have martial arts for the next 3 weeks. I look forward to watching students thrive in these sessions.
