Year 11 Deakin University Immersion Excursion
Our Year 11 students spent Monday 11 May taking part in the Year 11 Deakin University Immersion Excursion, experiencing campus life first-hand and exploring future pathways beyond secondary school. The day provided valuable insight into university study and encouraged students to begin thinking about the many tertiary opportunities available as they prepare for Year 12 in 2027.
Year 9 Rite Journey to You Yangs
On Tuesday 19 May, our Year 9s embarked on an exciting excursion to the You Yangs Regional Park, where they challenged themselves through a range of outdoor adventure activities including mountain biking, abseiling and hiking. Throughout the day, students demonstrated resilience, teamwork and perseverance as they stepped outside their comfort zones and supported one another. The experience encouraged personal growth, confidence and reflection — key aspects of the Rite Journey program.
YLAA visits GNLC!
Our Student-Led Council had the opportunity to attend a skill development and planning workshop run by the Youth Leadership Academy Australia. Throughout the day, students solved dynamic problems by working together and furthered their plans for improving aspects of College life. Students were engaged and worked collaboratively throughout the day.

Student-Led Council attend SRC Forum with Joanne Ryan MP
Members of our SLC were invited to meet with other student leaders from local schools to share their ideas for the future of our school, and the future of the local area, with federal MP, the Hon. Joanne Ryan. Our students developed their public speaking abilities and also made future plans for the betterment of our community through sharing their ideas with their peers.
