Welcome Back to Term 2!

Term 2 is a wonderful time in Cassia! As the days and nights cool, we revel in the Autumn weather—watching the changing leaves on the mulberry tree, exploring the bush on our weekly bush walks, celebrating the Autumn Fair, and finally concluding the term with our combined Cassia 1 & 2 Evening Lantern Festival.

As the weather gets colder, we’ll enjoy the smells and flavours of the season—warm cinnamon porridge and spinach pie! Our morning tea menu reflects the season with nourishing, warm dishes to sustain us. Morning circle (movement and songs) will tie in beautifully with our cooking activities and harvest theme.

🔔 Reminder: If your child will be absent, please inform the office in the morning.

🚶‍♂️ Bush walking

• Cassia 1: Monday mornings (except public holidays - 5th May & 9th June. On those weeks, walks will be on Tuesday).
• Cassia 2: Wednesday mornings.
• Bush walks begin in Week 3.

This is a wonderful time to be outdoors, build fitness, enjoy nature, and picnic with friends. If you haven’t yet signed a permission slip, please get in touch.

Please be on time: We leave by 8:50am sharp and return by 11:30am on most walk days.

What to Pack:

• ✅ Good closed-in walking shoes
• ✅ Long pants (jeans preferred for prickles!)
• ✅ A piece of fruit (apple or orange only—no bananas or pears)
• ✅ Change of clothes (optional)
• ❌ No drink bottles—we bring a water container and cups

Slippers!

Slipper/sock time is here to keep our toes warm!

• Please send thin slippers or non-slip socks (no woolly UGG boots).
• Slippers must be named and free from media logos/images.
• From the beginning of Term 2, outside play = shoes on.

Garden Day (Fridays)

This term, Maz will be leading Garden Day for the older children. You are welcome to pick up your child from 12:30–1:00pm. Please arrive by 1:00pm sharp for planning and pack-up time.

🍿 Fridays = Picnic, Popcorn, and Apple Slinky Day

Don’t forget to bring an apple!

🧵 Week 3: Parent Meeting

Shhh... it’s a special secret! You'll be creating a little bit of magic for your child—please don’t mention it to them!

Bring your sewing fingers—no experience necessary, many helping hands will be there. Dads are very welcome!
