Student Wellbeing

A very warm welcome back to our students and families for Term Four.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026!

As you reach this important milestone, your Year 12 graduation is more than the end of school; it is a celebration of your perseverance, growth and everything you have achieved along the way. It also marks the beginning of a new chapter, filled with opportunity and possibilities.

As you approach your final days at St Joseph’s College, we wish you every success in your upcoming examinations and beyond. May you carry Strength and Kindliness with you as you reflect on the younger version of yourself, the person you have grown to be and the path that lies ahead as you transition beyond the school gates.

We are proud of who you are and the way you have shown up throughout your time here, continually striving to do ordinary things extraordinarily well. As a College community, we are grateful for the many ways you have contributed to school life, not only in your final year but throughout your journey at St Joseph’s College.

Thank you, Class of 2026, for being part of our story. Here’s to all the amazing adventures still to come!

Looking After Yourself During Exam Season

As our senior students prepare for their upcoming examinations, it's important to remember that looking after your wellbeing is an important part of preparing for success.

The Hopefull Institute shares some helpful reminders about building routines that support learning and wellbeing:

  • Build a routine: Set a study schedule and stick to it as consistently as possible.
  • Prioritise sleep: Choose a regular bedtime and aim for consistent, quality sleep.
  • Study effectively: Try 50-minute study blocks followed by 10-minute breaks.
  • Keep moving: Aim for 20 minutes of movement each day. Even a walk counts!

Small, consistent habits can make a real difference to how we feel, focus and learn.

The Resilience Project also offers practical mindfulness activities to help students slow down a racing mind and manage stress.

School Hats

With spring bringing sunnier days and warmer temperatures, a reminder that school hats are a compulsory part of our uniform during Terms One and Four.

Hats can be purchased from Student Services for $20 or from Hip Pocket Workwear. We appreciate families' support in ensuring students have their school hat and are ready for the warmer weather.

Mobile Phones

A reminder to all students that, in line with our College mobile phone policy, mobile phones must be switched off and kept out of sight in lockers during the school day.

We also ask parents and carers to avoid texting or messaging students during school hours. If you need to get an urgent or important message to your child, please contact the relevant campus Front Office.

  • Kildare Campus: 5469 0354
  • Brigidine Campus: 5482 2577

Thank you for supporting our students to remain focused on their learning and engaged in College life throughout the school day.

Student Absences

Thank you to the families who are recording student absences through Compass. Your assistance helps us maintain accurate attendance records and ensures we can follow up on absences when needed.

If you require assistance with recording an absence for your child, please contact the relevant staff member at your student's campus:

  • Kildare Campus – Sharon Scragg, Student Services: 5469 0355
  • Brigidine Campus – Lucy Teasdale, Student Services: 5469 0201

Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in caring for the wellbeing of our students.
