Sports

Primary Sport
It’s been an exciting start to the term for sport in the primary school, with our Year 6 girls squad crowned champions in the ultimate frisbee state championship, winning a nail-biting grand final 3-2. All our athletes who qualified for Regional Athletics performed superbly, with a special shout out to Mila who (for the second year in a row) advanced to the State Athletics championships, after finishing 2nd in the 1500m.
Finally, both our boys and girls Hot Shots (tennis) teams cruised to victory (12-0 in sets for the boys and 11-1 in sets for the girls) at the Division tournament and will now both advance to the Region tournament.
Secondary Sport
The 2026 Secondary Sporting year is quickly coming to an end. Senior sport wrapped up late last term, which was our Year 12’s last ever chance to participate in our EISM Inter-school sports program.
All year long, our current year 12’s have given their absolute all for PVCC sport. As an optional program for year 12’s, we were blown away by their eagerness and commitment to taking part in our sporting teams all year. Thank you and congratulations to all year 12’s. Special mention to our Senior Boys Football team and Senior Girls Hockey team for coming runners-up in their seasons.
Our Junior (Yr 7) and Intermediate (Yr 8/9) seasons are around half-way through their final season of the year. We look forward to what the rest of the season will bring.
Late in term 3, we took a team of approx. 90 students to represent PVCC at our final EISM Carnival of the year, Cross-Country. Held again at Ruffey Lake Park, the challenging course tested all students involved. Overall, we had a fantastic day out, coming 4th place in Division 3, but had some outstanding podium finishes.
Congratulations to Luka, Elijah, Lucius, Van, Jai and Claire for their top-3 finishes in their respective age groups.
It’s been another huge year in the sporting world here at Plenty Valley and we look forward to seeing what the rest of the year will entail, including, who our sport award recipients will be at the end of the year.
