Showcasing & celebrating the Arts across the College
The Instrumental Soirées continue to be a highlight of the Performing Arts calendar at PVCC, showcasing the dedication, growth and talent of our instrumental music students. Across Term 1 and Term 3, more than 150 students from both Primary and Secondary took to the stage to perform on a wide range of instruments, including piano, voice, strings, woodwind, brass, percussion and guitar.

These evenings provide students with the opportunity to share their learning in a supportive performance environment while building valuable confidence and stagecraft skills. For many students, it was their first public performance, while others displayed the results of years of committed practice and development.
The Soirées are a wonderful celebration of the thriving culture of music at PVCC and a testament to the hard work of our students, instrumental tutors and families who support them throughout the year. We are incredibly proud of every performer who participated and thank our community for their enthusiastic encouragement and attendance.
We look forward to seeing our young musicians continue to grow and flourish through music in the years ahead.
Congratulations to all the students who are now completing the songwriters course as part of the year 9/10 elective program Musicians at Work.
Students dove headfirst into improvisation as they explored musical theory concepts and songwriting starters. Over four weeks of recording workshops, students collaborated with acclaimed songwriter Andrew Kitchen, producing a whole class album.
Students presented a concert series of seven performances which replicated a program launch for the inaugural and completely original "Empatia Songwriters Festival" - A festival that explores the power of songwriters and performers to connect with an audience through music.
In gathering together at a festival we can shape culture with hope. Congratulations
and many thanks to all students who participated and shared their incredible talent with our class and with the school community at the HeART of the Valley performance.
Gaston’s Tavern was bursting with life at this year’sHeART of the Valley! Our talented production cast gave the community an exciting sneak peek of what’s to come in our 2027 musical,Beauty and the Beast. It was a wonderful celebration of the hard work and dedication our students have already poured into the production!

Our Year 9/10 Drama students also presented a wonderful shadow puppetry adaptation ofPeter Pan. This creative performance was entirely student-led, with students collaborating to design and create everything from the staging and puppets to the music and script.
Meanwhile, our younger Drama students have been embracing their inner clowns, developing skills in juggling clubs and balls, plate spinning, mime and physical comedy!
What a fantastic celebration of creativity, collaboration and the performing arts at PVCC.
During Arts Week, the PVCC Drama Room and VCE building amphitheatre became a stage for Year 11 Theatre Studies students, for some at Heart of the Valley.
The monologue performances were the culmination of months of preparation, rehearsal and refinement. The talented class have been working through the stages of the production process, with each student interpreting script, researching the conventions of Musical Theatre or Physical Theatre, and testing their choices and acting skills in rehearsal and finally performance.

The results were wonderfully varied: a curious Alice in Wonderland, the quirky Stache, a spirited song from Newsies, and a sharp-minded Sherlock Holmes. A testament to the PVCC value of Learning Courageously students took creative risks and leant into discomfort - echoing Joshua 1:9:
“Be strong and courageous.”
They are all to be commended for their contribution to Building Community by sharing their God given gifts and talents – congratulations all.
