North West Cross Country Trials 2025!

On Thursday, June 12th, our dedicated team of 24 runners from Glen Innes took to the Coolah track for the North West Cross Country Trials, and they did not disappoint!

A massive thank you to all the parents and carers who made the long journey to Coolah to support our athletes. Your commitment truly enhances this experience for our GIHS children!

This well-regarded event saw up to 65 runners competing in some age groups, with the top 6 place-getters earning a chance to progress to Sydney later in July. We are proud to report that Glen Innes athletes performed exceptionally well, frequently placing in the top 3 across most age groups!

Congratulations to all our runners for their incredible effort, determination, and sportsmanship. Cross country running is no easy feat, and your strength and grit shine through every step of the way!

A special mention goes to our Open Boys runners, including Kayden Elliott, Howie Eastwood and Rory Husband. This was the last Coolah cross country run for these athletes in their final year of school. They must be commended for their consistent commitment to this sport which has also proven to be a foundation and base for their success in other sporting codes.

In particular Kayden Elliott has excelled in this sport over the years, leaving a lasting mark. His influence on his peers and younger athletes is a testament to his character, as he consistently motivates and inspires others to improve while achieving excellence in his own running. Congratulations on your first place finish at Coolah again in 2025, Kayden! Howie placed 3rd, and Rory placed 4th.
