Principal's Message

It has been another busy and positive week at George Street Primary School! We are in the final week of term three. Bring on the sunshine in term four!

Last week, our students had the opportunity to represent our school at Hooptime. It was fantastic to see students getting involved, supporting their teammates and demonstrating great sportsmanship throughout the day. Most importantly, our students represented George Street with pride and continued to demonstrate our school values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience. Congratulations to everyone who participated and to Mr. Barker for organising.

Wednesday we held our Parent–Teacher Conferences. These conferences are an important opportunity for families and teachers to come together to discuss student learning, progress and goals as we continue to work in partnership to support every child.  We enjoyed welcoming families back into the school for conferences and sharing the progress our students have made.

We have also been very fortunate to have Ms Mitchell completing her teaching placement in our Grade 3/4/5 classroom. Ms Mitchell has become a valued part of our school community during her placement, working alongside our students and staff and contributing positively to classroom learning. This week will be Ms Mitchell’s final week with us, and we thank her for the enthusiasm, care and commitment she has shown throughout her time at George Street. We wish her all the very best as she continues her teaching journey.

As we approach the final part of the term, I would also like to acknowledge our students and staff for continuing to approach each day with positivity and perseverance. It has been an incredibly busy term, and there is much to be proud of across our school.
