Head of Primary Years' Report

Dear Parents, Carers and Friends of Hazel Glen College,
This week, we have been celebrating student achievements with open classrooms to showcase their learning. We thank you for your attendance to share your child's successes. Students are proudly sharing their projects and enjoying having visitors to the school. Our Prep team celebrated Milo's Birthday on Wednesday, where they dressed up as a character from Little Learners Love Literacy to celebrate their learning of letters and sounds in their first year of schooling.
We are still taking Prep enrolments. If you have a kindergarten aged student who will be attending Prep with us next year, please let the College Office Admin know on (03) 9717 7500 to assist with our forward planning. If you have not yet completed an enrolment form, our College Admin team will be able to assist you.
In the Primary Years, we celebrate the diversity of culture, ethnicity, and faith of all our students. We are proud of our diversity, and everyone is welcome at our school. Celebrating the diversity of our community makes us stronger, kinder and more innovative. We are committed to making sure that students from all backgrounds feel accepted, supported and able to learn.
We teach all students according to our school values and teach the respectful relationships framework. This includes education around diversity and inclusion.
To achieve our values and aims, everyone in the Primary Years plays an important role.
To help us make our school a place where everyone feels welcome, respected and supported, we encourage you to also speak to your child about these values, as well as the importance of:
- Understanding that we celebrate diversity and multicultural inclusion
- Understanding the importance of everyone at school being treated with respect
If parents and carers have any concerns around their child and racism, please contact your child's teacher or a member of the Primary Years Leadership Team
