In Our Classrooms

Year 2 Assembly Performance
This term, the Year 2 students have been learning about how humans use and impact Earth’s natural resources. At the Primary Years assembly last Friday, the students performed a song about how to care for the Earth. We loved the enthusiasm of all the students and their teachers.
What is happening in PE?
What’s Happening in PE This Term
This term in Physical Education, students across all year levels are embracing a wide range of activities designed to keep them moving, build their skills, and promote teamwork and confidence. We’ve planned an engaging PE program that introduces students to both individual and team-based sports, while also focusing on overall fitness and wellbeing.
Prep, Year 1 & Year 2: Athletics, Skipping and Gymnastics
Our youngest students are developing their fundamental movement skills through fun and energetic sessions. They are exploring the basics of running, jumping and throwing as part of our Athletics unit, practising coordination and rhythm with skipping, and learning balance, strength and body control through gymnastics. These activities are a great foundation for all types of physical activity and sport.
Year 3 & Year 4: Athletics, Tennis and Badminton
Students in Years 3 and 4 are continuing to build on their athletic skills, focusing on technique and participation in track and field events. In addition, they’re being introduced to tennis and badminton, learning hand-eye coordination, racquet skills, and the importance of sportsmanship during gameplay. These units also support agility, teamwork and perseverance.
Year 5: Fitness, Badminton and Volleyball
Year 5 students are focusing on their personal fitness through fun and challenging activities that encourage goal setting and healthy habits. They are also continuing to develop their racquet skills in badminton, and learning the rules, techniques and strategies of volleyball, which is a fast-paced, team sport that supports communication and quick thinking.
Year 6: Fitness, Tennis and Volleyball
Our senior primary students are working on improving their overall fitness and learning how to monitor their own progress through structured exercises and fitness testing. Alongside this, they are refining their skills in tennis and volleyball, with a focus on gameplay, strategy, and collaboration.
It’s been fantastic to see such enthusiasm and effort from all students so far. Whether they’re jumping into gymnastics, learning a new racquet sport, or improving their fitness, each child is developing valuable physical skills and building a positive attitude towards staying active. We look forward to a fun and active term ahead in PE!
Respectful Relationships: Stress Management
As we approach the end of Term 2, all Primary Years students are exploring the topic of Stress Management as part of the Respectful Relationships curriculum. These lessons are helping students build emotional awareness and resilience while learning practical strategies to recognise and manage stress in healthy and constructive ways.
Classroom teachers are encouraged to introduce these sessions early in the week and follow up with reflective conversations to deepen student understanding.
We encourage you to talk with your child about what they’ve been learning, as these important skills can be supported and strengthened at home.
Thank you for your continued support in promoting the well-being of our students.
Year 1 Curiosity
This term, the Year 1 students have been learning about science in Curiosity and in particular, they investigated the concepts of sound and light. As part of the unit, students designed, planned and created their own musical instrument. They also invited their parents to come and see what they had created, and were very proud to show off their amazing work.
