State Athletics:
On Wednesday the 6th of November Emily Tierney-O'Hara headed to Melbourne to compete in the state Athletics championships and although she was extremely nervous, she was able to get 2 good throws and came in 15th in the state. This is a fantastic effort considering she only learnt to throw the discus this year. We hope to see Emily continue to grow and develop her confidence in this sport in the future. Well done Emily.
Division Super 8’s Cricket:
On Friday 8th of November St Luke’s sent a group of students to participate in the Division Super 8’s Cricket in Mooroopna. The boys' team played well in every game and were able to win through to the final. In the final, they came up against Nagambie. Our boys were far too strong and came away with a 25 run win.
In the girls section the St Luke’s girls were lucky to come away with a win in their first game winning by 8 runs. They composed themselves and then won the remaining games by bigger margins. The girls also made it through to the final and faced Katandra West. The St Luke’s Girls batted really well setting a score of 130. They then went and bowled extremely well and bowled Katandra out for 97 runs. Well Done to both teams and good luck in a couple of weeks at Regionals.
