Reconcilliation Week

During National Reconciliation Week, May 27th to June 3rd, our school reflects on the importance of building respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider community. On May 26, we recognised National Sorry Day by wearing a splash of purple and learning about the Stolen Generation. The colour purple represents the Native Hibiscus (also known as the desert rose or native cotton) which the Stolen Generations symbolise as resilience and spiritual healing.

Education Week and Open Night

Thank you to all the families who attended our Education Week events, particularly the Art Show and Open Night. Despite the inclement weather on Wednesday evening, it was wonderful to see so many current and prospective families engaging with and celebrating the wide range of extracurricular opportunities JPPS students enjoy.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our dedicated teachers, especially Kate and Kathleen and the Art Show Committee, for their outstanding efforts in curating such a spectacular display of student artwork. The exhibition was a true highlight and a testament to the creativity of our students. Congratulations also to all our auction winners— your support is greatly appreciated.

Finally, a special thank you to the JPPC committee and helpers for providing a fantastic BBQ, which was enjoyed by all and added to the atmosphere of the night.

JSC fundraising event

Congratulations to our hardworking JSC team who organised a cup cake stall to raise money for the Monash Childrens' Hospital School. Colin Dobson, the principal of the school, recently attended our whole school assembly to be presented with the cheque. Thank you to all the students who purchased a cupcake and helped raise $786.35 for such a worthy cause.

Have a wonderful weekend!
