New England Garden Festival Competition

Dear Parents,

Mrs. Grills has entered Transition students in the New England Garden Festival's 'SOW A SEED' competition. She will collect the materials from the garden festival committee and the students will plant and care for the seeds as they grow in the classroom. The seedlings will then be returned to the organisers to be displayed for festival visitors and judged. If you wish to view the entries on display, you can head down to Armidale for the Festival on the 18/19th November. (see flyer below)

Students in other classes are encouraged to look at the various categories for the competitions and think about whether they would like to part of this fabulous community event.

School Student Broadband Initiative

The Australian Government is providing up to 30,000 unconnected families with school aged children across all states and territories with a free National Broadband Network (NBN) connection for twelve months.

The initiative will provide 50 mega bites per second (Mbps) fixed line services, Fixed Wireless plus and Sky Muster Plus services, depending on where the family lives. The School Student Broadband Initiative is an affordability measure to narrow the digital divide and boost education opportunities for students without access to home internet.

To be eligible, a family must:

  • Have a child living at home and enrolled in an Australian school in 2023
  • Have no active NBN service

If you meet the guidelines, and wish to nominate for this service, please contact Barnaby Joyce's office on 6761 3080.
