🌳Another Celebration Day!🌳

Our Celebration Tree is once again full, with 40 birds proudly displayed, meaning our students have earned another whole-school Celebration Day!

Each bird represents students consistently demonstrating our school values of Compassion, Ambition, Courage and Creativity. Filling the tree so early in the term is a wonderful reflection of the positive choices our students make every day and the supportive culture they continue to build together.

The Junior School Council will soon meet to decide what our next Celebration Day will look like. With another four birds already collected towards our next milestone, it's clear our students aren't slowing down!

Stay tuned! We'll announce the details of our next Celebration Day soon. Congratulations to all of our students on another fantastic achievement!

Congratulations Charlotte!

Our school community is delighted to congratulate our Kinder Director, Charlotte and her family on the safe arrival of their beautiful baby boy, Harvey!

We know Harvey has already brought so much joy to his family, and we couldn't be happier for Charlotte as she begins this exciting new chapter as a mum of two.

On behalf of everyone at Box Hill North Primary School and Kindergarten, we wish Charlotte, Harvey and the entire family every happiness, good health and many precious moments together.

We can't wait to meet Harvey and look forward to welcoming Charlotte back when the time is right. Congratulations once again! 💙

✨Exciting News for Our School Community!✨

I am delighted to share that Box Hill North Primary School has been successful in securing a $75,000 grant through the North East Community Fund.

This is fantastic news for our students and our school community. Combined with the incredible funds raised by our dedicated Parents Association over recent years, this grant means we can now move forward with a significant upgrade of our junior playground.

Our junior playground is a much-loved space that supports imaginative play, physical activity and social connection for our youngest students. The upgrade will create an even more engaging, inclusive and stimulating environment where children can learn, play and thrive.

I would like to sincerely thank the North East Community Fund for investing in our school and recognising the importance of high-quality play spaces for children. I would also like to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of our Parents Association, whose fundraising has played a vital role in making this project possible. Their ongoing commitment to improving opportunities for our students continues to have a lasting impact.

We look forward to sharing more details with our community as planning progresses and can't wait to see our students enjoying their new playground in the future.

Student Advisory Group

This week, Ben and Ben (aka: 'The Bens') from Year 6 proudly represented Box Hill North Primary School at the Whitehorse City Council Children's Advisory Group.

The Children's Advisory Group brings together students from schools across Whitehorse to ensure young people's voices help shape Council decisions and future community projects. During this session, students worked alongside Council staff and peers from other local schools to discuss community safety priorities, provide feedback on proposed improvements to public spaces, and take part in a "CEO for a Day" challenge where they balanced community needs with limited budgets and resources.

It is always a proud moment to see our students confidently sharing their ideas with school leaders and Council representatives. Ben and Ben represented our school with maturity, thoughtfulness and respect, demonstrating our school values while ensuring the perspectives of Box Hill North students were heard.

Thank you, Ben and Ben, for being such outstanding ambassadors for our school community. We look forward to hearing more about your experiences and seeing the positive impact of your contributions.

📚Book Week is Just Around the Corner!📚

We're looking forward to celebrating Children's Book Week later this month, with this year's theme, Book an Adventure, encouraging readers to discover the excitement, imagination and wonder that books can bring.

Families are warmly invited to join us for our Book Week Parade on Monday 24 August at 9:00 am. Students are encouraged to come dressed as a favourite book character or in a costume inspired by this year's theme. Whether your costume is elaborate or created from items you already have at home, we encourage everyone to get involved and enjoy the celebration.

The parade will take place on The Green (weather permitting), and parents, carers and family members are warmly invited to attend and cheer on our students as they showcase their creative costumes.

We can't wait to see our school transformed into a wonderful celebration of books, reading and imagination!
