Athletics Day

Our annual SMDP Athletics Carnival was held on Tuesday, the 28th of April and was a day to remember for our school community down at Newport Athletics track. The weather was perfect for enjoying a day outdoors. 

Junior students experienced a day full of fun activities such as the chicken throw, the always challenging egg and spoon race, the 60-meter dash and lots more. Whilst our senior students participated in more formal athletic events such as hurdles, shot put, discus, long jump, triple jump and the high jump. 

As students participated in each event, they earned points for their house colour. Each house colour was well represented, and a big congratulations to Yellow House, who won the day with the most points, closely followed by Green, Red and Blue. 

All of our students participated with great enthusiasm and an outstanding attitude towards the day, which made our everyone extremely proud. We thank all of those who contributed in planning and running the day.

A big thank you to our teachers and volunteers, your assistance was greatly appreciated. Good luck to all our house colours for next year's carnival in 2027.
