International Women’s Day

As we reflect on International Women’s Day, it is heartening to recognise the many everyday moments in which our Junior School boys contribute to this year’s theme of Balancing the Scales.

Each day, we witness boys greeting their mothers or maternal figures with warm smiles and genuine affection. These interactions reflect relationships built on respect, gratitude, and love. Believe it or not, we also see these interactions extended to sisters who collect their brothers from class or homework club. It is delightful to hear Junior School boys ask their sister about their day or say thank you as they help pack their bag or remind them to get their instrument or sports bag. It is these interactions with female family members which fill us with confidence that the Trinity Junior School is full of young boys the world needs.

Beyond family interactions, our boys demonstrate respect towards the female role models within our school community. We regularly see boys showing politeness, kindness, and genuine care towards female teachers, education assistants, support staff, and coaches. There does; however, remain a discrepancy between the way male and female staff are treated. This remains an area of focus while boys are at school. This will ensure we continue to educate the boys to be respectful male adults.

Through our Junior School formation programs, we continue to promote gender equality and respectful relationships. Wearing pink and fundraising for important causes helps raise awareness and continue conversation, but it is through our daily actions, modelling, and strong partnership with families that we truly shape the boys in our care. Together, we continue to form respectful, compassionate, and grounded young men, that the world genuinely needs.

God Bless,
