Space at Firefly Speed: A Conversation with Jaxon Liebeck

The United States Consulate Perth, Scitech, AROSE and the Fogarty Foundation invite WA school students, teachers and parents to join us for a special free event that is literally out of this world!

In 2025, U.S. company Firefly Aerospace became the first commercial outfit in history to successfully land on the moon. The Flight Director of this historic lunar landing was young West Aussie, Jaxon Liebeck.

Originally from Pemberton, now based in the United States, Jaxon is back in WA to share stories (and cool photos) about his journey to NASA and Firefly, as well as explore pathways to a possible career in the space sector.

As a special treat, there will also be a 15-minute Live Tour of the Night Sky provided by Scitech inside the Planetarium.

This is an event to not miss! Register at the button link below. Space is limited.

FirstPoint USA Information Session

Students and Parents Invited

The College is pleased to be hosting an upcoming information session for FirstPoint USA, an organisation that specialises in supporting student-athletes who aspire to combine tertiary study with high-level sport in the United States.

FirstPoint USA works with students around the world to help them navigate the pathway to U.S. college sport and academic scholarships, providing guidance on the recruitment process, eligibility requirements, and how to balance academic study with sporting commitments.

This open information session will provide valuable insight for students and families who may be interested in learning more about opportunities within the American collegiate system. Representatives from FirstPoint USA will outline what universities are looking for in prospective student-athletes, the steps involved in pursuing scholarships, and the importance of maintaining strong academic performance alongside sporting development.

FirstPoint USA is particularly interested in meeting students with a background in Track & Field, Basketball, Rugby, Soccer, Volleyball and Rowing.

Students and parents are warmly invited to attend this session, which will be held in the College Staff Lounge. The evening will provide an opportunity to ask questions and gain a clearer understanding of the pathways available to those considering this option after school.

We encourage any families interested in exploring international academic and sporting opportunities to attend what promises to be an informative and valuable session.
