IPS WELLBEING

Welcome to 2026!
A warm welcome from the wellbeing team to our new IPS families and welcome back to our returning families. I hope you have all had a wonderful, relaxing Summer break and are managing to get back into school routines again without too much hassle.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce our wellbeing team and the roles we play throughout the week at IPS.
Jayne Lawson - Mental Health in Primary Schools Leader (MHAWL)
This role was a new position that was rolled throughout Primary Schools in our area last year. The purpose of this role is to lead a whole-school approach to students' mental health and wellbeing. This includes staff and families within our school community. The focus of the role is on prevention, promotion, and early intervention rather than direct clinical counseling, acting as a bridge to external support services.
Megan Lynch - School Chaplain and wellbeing support.
A primary school chaplain provides crucial social, emotional, and spiritual support to students, staff, and families, serving as a non-judgmental, confidential, and safe presence within the school’s wellbeing team. They focus on promoting student engagement, resilience, and mental health through pastoral care, mentoring, and facilitating support programs for issues like bullying or grief.
Along with Rebecca Luckman, Jayne and Megan are the people that will support you in the mental health and wellbeing space and can be contacted through their emails, by phoning the school or coming into the school to make an appointment. Our doors are always welcome and we love catching up with you for a chat!
The purpose of this page is to provide information or details to support you and your family in the mental health and wellbeing space. Information that is provided will always come from a professional and reputable source that will be shared with you. Please keep an eye on this page throughout the year for many wonderful resources.
Warm Regards,
Jayne Lawson
