A Fantastic Start to the Year
What an amazing start to the school year. It has been wonderful to see all children and classes hit the ground running this week, settling straight back into their regular literacy and numeracy sessions. The calm, engaged learning environments across the school have been a real pleasure to see.

Welcome to Our New Preps
Welcome to our new Prep students and their families. It has been lovely to see our youngest learners settling into school routines, making new friends and beginning their learning journey at IPS. Please note that Wednesdays throughout February will be Prep Rest Days. This supports our Prep students to gradually build their stamina for full weeks of school.

Welcome to New Students and Families
We warmly welcome Darcy, Max and Katelyn and their families to our IPS community. They have already begun settling in well, and we are delighted to have them join our wonderful school.
Welcome BBQ
We would love to invite all families to our Welcome BBQ on Thursday, 19th March. This will be a great opportunity to meet our staff and connect with new and existing families in our community. More details will be shared shortly, and we hope to see you there.
School Photos
Our school photos will be taking place Thursday, 19th. We aim to complete photos in the morning before lunch, so students are feeling fresh and ready. Please keep an eye out for further information coming home shortly.
School Assemblies
For new families, we hold assemblies every fortnight. Our first assembly will be held on Friday at 2:45 pm, and all members of our community are warmly invited to attend. Our students love the opportunity to share their learning and celebrate achievements with families.
Family Cooking Program
We are excited to offer families a wonderful opportunity to take part in a Family Cooking Program. Over four Mondays from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm, Foodbank will be running cooking sessions where families will prepare and enjoy a meal together. At the end of each session, families will receive a 50 dollar food hamper to take home. Please see me as soon as possible to register your interest as we need to confirm numbers. Further details can be found on the flyer below.
Years 3–6 Camp
Our Years 3 to 6 camp will take place in Term 1. We are excited to be joining with Bridgewater Primary School for this combined camp experience. More information will be sent home in the coming weeks. This is also a reminder for families who qualify for Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund support to please see Kerrie to ensure applications are submitted. This year, CSEF funding has increased to 400 dollars per eligible family, which can greatly assist with camp costs. Once again, our Parents and Friends Association will generously donate 50 dollars per family attending camp to help subsidise costs. Camps are an essential part of schooling and provide students with valuable opportunities to build independence, resilience, teamwork and social skills, while creating lasting memories with their peers.
Cooking and Learning
Cooking is a powerful learning experience for children. It develops important life skills such as following instructions, teamwork, hygiene and independence. Cooking also aligns strongly with the curriculum by supporting literacy through reading and following recipes, numeracy through measuring, counting and timing, health through understanding nutrition and making healthy choices, and personal and social skills through cooperation, responsibility and confidence.

FOOD PANTRY
Our food pantry has been stocked and is open to all families to grab whatever they need. It is located near the office.

Join our Parents and Friends!
Our Parents and Friends group is looking for people to join this year. It’s open to anyone in our community – parents, carers, grandparents, and friends of the school are all welcome.
Getting involved is a great way to support our students and school community, meet other families, and help create positive experiences for our children. Whether you can help with events, fundraising, or sharing ideas, every contribution makes a difference.
There is no minimum commitment – whatever time or support you can offer is appreciated. Even small contributions help, and you can be as involved as your availability allows.
We’d love to have you on board!

Contacting the School
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need support at any time.
