 SAPSASA Athletics Carnival

On Thursday, 21 August, 37 enthusiastic students from Years 4–6 proudly represented our school at the SAPSASA Athletics Carnival held at Bridgestone Stadium, Salisbury. This was more than double the number of competitors from last year – an outstanding effort! Our team showcased a wonderful mix of talent and determination, with experienced athletes competing alongside students taking part in SAPSASA sport for the very first time. It was fantastic to see everyone giving their best and supporting one another throughout the day.

Our students competed across a wide range of events, including the 100m, 200m, 800m, 1500m, 4x100m relay, shot put, discus, high jump and long jump. Every student gave their absolute best, with many achieving podium finishes. A special congratulations goes to the four students who placed first in their events and automatically qualified for the SAPSASA State Championships, as well as to one student who was selected in the 4x100m relay team. We are incredibly proud of Tyrese (F4), Elise (F3), Ava (F2), Stuart (F10) and Lachie (F10), who will represent our school at the State Championships later this term.

The camaraderie among our students was truly inspiring. They cheered each other on, celebrated every success, and showed wonderful sportsmanship throughout the carnival. Magill School finished 3rd in the Large Schools Championship in the Torrens River District – a fantastic achievement for our school community.

A huge thank you to the many parents and families who came along to support our athletes, and to those who volunteered their time on the day. Your support makes these opportunities possible and is greatly appreciated.
