Being Well at Magill

Year 6 Leader's Partnership Day

On Thursday of Week 7, Magill School proudly hosted a special Partnership Day for student leaders from our neighbouring schools: Vale Park Primary, Trinity Gardens Primary, and Stradbroke Primary. It was an incredible day of collaboration, where our young leaders worked together to review this year’s Wellbeing and Engagement Collection (WEC) results.

The WEC survey, completed annually by students across South Australia from Years 4 to 12, provides valuable insights into student wellbeing. Our student leaders look at the results of each year’s survey very carefully, seeking to discover areas in which Magill students are flourishing and those that need a little attention. Student leaders were delighted to see that each of the four target areas identified by 2024 student leaders showed improvements in this year’s WEC results. This year, our leaders highlighted key areas for further growth at Magill School, including:

  • Social bullying

  • School climate

  • Emotional wellbeing and

  • Academic self-concept

Over the next few months, our Year 6 leaders will discuss and develop strategies to address these areas, which they will present to staff and our Governing Council for implementation in 2026. We’re excited to see their ideas come to life—stay tuned for updates!

Two of our Leaders reflected on their recent experiences:

Yoon shared,“The partnership day was a very fun and educational way to learn about leadership and interact with other students. I enjoyed the Scavenger Hunt and all the other small activities we did throughout the day.”

Medi explained,“We analysed the 2025 WEC data results and compared it with the 2024 data results. We looked at improvements and areas that deserve more attention. We also examined ways we could help improvements to occur in the future. This is our main task for the rest of the year.”
