Indonesian

We have had a very busy and productive term in Indonesian classes!

Our Foundation students have been consolidating their knowledge of counting and singing songs in Indonesian. They have been learning about the correct way to address teachers and other adults using target vocabulary ('Ibu' for Miss/Mrs/Ms and 'Bapak' for Mr).

In Grade 1/2 we have been learning all about Indonesian words to describe the environment, such as 'matahari' (sun), 'awan' (clouds), 'gunung' (mountains) and 'pohon' (trees). Students have created and labelled beautiful landscape scenes.

Grade 3/4 students have been learning all about Indonesian words for fruits and vegetables. We have learnt how to describe tastes and textures and write sentences about our favourite fruits.

Our Grade 5/6 students are focusing on learning about cities and towns. We have learnt all about different villages, towns and cities in Indonesia and compared them to what we know about Australia. We have learnt Indonesian names for city landmarks and are beginning to write and follow directions using target vocabulary.
