Our school ensures that people working with our children and young people are suitable and are supported to reflect our child safety and wellbeing values in practice.  When recruiting, our advertising, referee checks, and pre-employment screening for staff and for volunteers is robust and emphasises child safety and wellbeing.  Guided by our Recruitment Policy & ProceduresSchool Volunteer Policy & ProceduresChild Safety and Wellbeing Policy & Procedures, and our Safeguarding Children & Young People Code of Conduct we make certain: 

  • staff and volunteers have current working with children checks or equivalent background checks 
  • staff and volunteers receive an appropriate induction annually and are aware of their responsibilities to children and young people, including record keeping, information sharing, and reporting obligations 
  • ongoing supervision and people management is focused on child safety and wellbeing 
  • staff, volunteers, and visitors to the school sign annually a Statement of Commitment, declaring they will abide by our school’s Safeguarding and Young People Code of Conduct 

 

All of our policies and procedures are available to our school community in hard copy by request from the School Office.
