Emotional Literacy involves learning to identify and label our emotions, as well as developing emotional regulation skills. When we can accurately name our feelings and emotions, it reduces the impact of uncomfortable emotions and enhances the effect of positive ones.

We are very excited to be introducing a wonderful program at our school called Social Stencil, developed by Connie Buckingham.
Social Stencil is a creative and engaging program designed to help students explore
social situations, friendships, emotions, and communication skills through discussion and guided activities. The program supports students in building confidence, understanding others, and developing practical strategies for navigating everyday social experiences.
Through Social Stencil, students are given opportunities to reflect on their own feelings, practice problem-solving, and learn positive ways to interact with their peers.
The sessions are designed to be supportive, engaging, and age-appropriate, helping students strengthen important social and emotional skills that benefit them both in and out of the classroom.
We feel very fortunate to have access to this program and are excited about the positive impact it can have for our students.
Before the end of term, a permission note will be sent home for parents and carers to review and sign for potential participation in the program. Please keep an eye out for this note and return it to the school if you would like your child to take part.
In Learning Conversations, your child's teacher speaks to you about how attendance is linked to progress in learning.

Please consider the following which will help your child progress in their learning:
