F/1 AROUND THE CLASSROOM

As we come to the end of Term 1, we would like to take a moment to acknowledge the wonderful way our students have settled into their learning. It has been fantastic to see their enthusiasm, resilience, and commitment as they embraced new routines, built friendships, and engaged so positively in the classroom.

Throughout the term, our students have also enjoyed participating in a range of school events that have helped build community spirit and create lasting memories. From the excitement of our Golden Hammer Day to the energy of Ride to School Day, the creativity on display during the Easter Hat Parade, and the determination shown at the Community Cross Country, it has been a joy to see everyone involved and giving their best.

As the term draws to a close, we would like to wish all of our families a very happy and safe Easter. May this special time be filled with joy, rest, and quality moments spent with loved ones.

We hope all of our students enjoy a well-deserved break and take the opportunity to relax and recharge. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 2, refreshed and ready for another exciting term of learning.

As we wrap up a busy and rewarding term, it’s wonderful to reflect on how much our Year 1/2 class has grown—not just as learners, but as a team. A big focus this term has been learning how to work together, support one another, and celebrate our progress along the way. It has been fantastic to see students encouraging each other, sharing ideas, and building a positive classroom community.

In Literacy, we have been working hard using our InitiaLit program to strengthen our reading, writing, and spelling skills. Students have shown great enthusiasm as they build their confidence with sounds, words, and sentence construction. It has been especially pleasing to see their persistence and pride in their learning.

In Mathematics, our focus has been on developing a strong understanding of data, place value, and beginning addition. Students have been exploring numbers in hands-on and engaging ways, helping them build important foundational skills and confidence when working with numbers.

Our Inquiry unit on Sound Stories has been a real highlight this term. Students loved exploring how sound can tell a story, with musical instruments and Chrome Music Lab being particular favourites. Their creativity and excitement during these sessions were a joy to see.

In Religious Education, we have been learning about community and developing an understanding of Holy Week. Students showed thoughtful engagement, especially when learning about the Last Supper and its significance.

A sincere thank you to Hannah and Asha, our wonderful Learning Support Officers, for their care, dedication, and the support they provide to our students each and every day. We also extend our thanks to our families for your ongoing support and partnership—it makes a real difference to our classroom.

Overall, it has been a term full of growth, teamwork, and meaningful learning experiences. We are so proud of the way students have supported one another and embraced new challenges. We look forward to another fantastic term ahead!

3/4AE - AROUND THE CLASSROOM

Hi families,

We have officially made it to the end of the term! It has been a busy and productive few months across all learning areas.

In Science, students explored producers and consumers and learned about food chains. In Maths, we covered counting, addition and subtraction, time, multiplication and division. In English, students worked hard on tricky words and spelling rules and completed both a persuasive and a narrative piece of writing.

Our Year 3 students also completed their first ever NAPLAN – a great milestone!

In Inquiry, we focused on our community and how it changes over time. In Religion, students learned about Jesus’ parables, as well as the significance of Lent and Easter.

We also enjoyed some wonderful community events, including Golden Hammer Day, Ride to School Day, our Easter Hat Parade and Cross Country.

It has been a fantastic term, and everyone has worked incredibly hard. We hope you all enjoy a well-earned Easter break. Stay safe, and we look forward to seeing you all again next term.

Kind regards,

 Amy

5/6- AROUND THE CLASSROOM

As we reach the end of a busy and rewarding term, I would like to take a moment to celebrate the wonderful learning and experiences our Year 5/6 students have shared.

This term, we explored the novel A Ghost in My Suitcase, diving into its themes, characters, and cultural elements. Students engaged in rich discussions, thoughtful responses, and showed growing confidence in understanding deeper ideas in literature.

A highlight for many was our incredible Year 5/6 Camp at Cave Hill Creek. Students demonstrated courage, teamwork, and resilience as they challenged themselves across a variety of activities. Their positive attitudes and the way they supported one another were truly inspiring.

We also enjoyed several special community events, including Cross Country, where students gave their best effort and cheered each other on, and the colourful and our joyful Easter Parade, which brought our school together in celebration. Our Buddy Program continued to be a meaningful part of the term, with students showing leadership, kindness, and responsibility as they worked with their younger buddies.

In the Visual Arts, our class loved participating in a visual art excursion to explore local murals and public artworks. This sparked creativity and curiosity, and students enjoyed seeing how artists use large‑scale designs to tell stories about place and community.

Lastly, we wrapped up the week with our fabulous Easter Parade and the PBIS Movie Reward. It’s fair to say we enjoyed plenty of well‑earned sweet treats and shared lots of laughs while watching the movie our students voted for.

It certainly has been a term filled with learning, connection, and memorable moments. I am incredibly proud of the hard work, enthusiasm, and growth each student has shown.

Thank you for your ongoing support. I hope you and your families enjoy a restful and safe break, and I look forward to another fantastic term ahead.

Warm regards, Maree and Bianca
